Dong Quai

Dong Quai (Angelica sinensis) belongs to the Apiaceae family and is primarily grown in the mountainous regions of China, as well as in parts of Korea and Japan. This biennial herb typically reaches heights of 3 to 4 feet and is characterized by its feathery, green leaves and small, white flowers that bloom in umbrella-shaped clusters. 

Historically, Dong Quai has been a staple in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), where it has been used for centuries for its various properties. Often referred to as "female ginseng," Dong Quai is traditionally prepared as a decoction or infused in herbal formulations aimed at supporting women's health. In TCM, it is valued for its potential to nourish the blood and promote balance within the body. In Ayurveda, Dong Quai is recognized for its role in enhancing vitality and supporting hormonal balance.*
