A glycerite is an alcohol-free method of herbal extraction, utilizing both glycerine and water. Food grade glycerine is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid with a sweet taste and the consistency of syrup. It is often chosen as an extract for those sensitive to alcohol. Glycerite formulas have a shelf-life of 14-24 months, whereas tinctures (alcohol-based) extracts can last 4-6 years.
