Moringa leaf is rich in antioxidants and well known for its immune boosting and anti-inflammatory properties. Maintaining a healthy immune system is essential for helping our bodies stave off infections and illnesses. Moringa oleifera leaves are a rich source of iron and vitamin A, both essential for healthy function of the immune system.
The leaves of echinacea contain antimicrobial and cold/flu fighting properties.
The root of goldenseal is more commonly used in the traditional Chinese and Indian wellness systems, but the leaves of this herb exert similar more mild properties. The commonality is the presence of a plant alkaloid called berberine that has significant antibacterial and antifungal properties.
*note: goldenseal is classified as an endangered species due to over-harvesting and mountain top removal mining. The removal or transplant of wild goldenseal without a permit is unlawful and irresponsible. Our goldenseal is grown organically and farm cultivated, and only leaf is used.
Astragalus Root is an adaptogenic herb that helps the body cope with stress by lowering the stress hormone. It helps to support the immune system. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it's been used for thousands of years to help fight off stress and disease. Astragalus can act as an anti-inflammatory, may help protect the cardiovascular system & may reduce blood pressure. Many elements in Astragalus help fight free radical damage.
Elderflower is a diuretic, laxative, antispetic, antiviral and also has anti-inflammatory properties. The flowers are known for their high level of antioxidants. Elderflowers are high in vitamin C which boosts the immune system. Elderflowers help to fight flu and respiratory disturbances by encouraging water to leave the body (diaphoretic), helping you to “sweat it out”. Elderflower contain tannins that create astringent action, helping to dry up a runny nose, help reduce inflammation and irritation. It is often used in fever reduction.
Ginger root contains anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antibacterial and anti-viral properties. It creates movement in the body and "heats up and cooks out" the bad stuff. Ginger can help ease pain in the body, reduce irritation/inflammation or other discomforts caused by a cold or flu. Its expectorant properties loosen the mucus from lungs and sinuses. As a diaphoretic, ginger root warms the body to promote sweating and flush out toxins. Its antispasmodic properties may help to reduce stomach cramping if flu symptoms are present.
Organically Grown Ingredients: Moringa Leaf (Moringa oleifera), Echinacea Leaf (Echinacea purpurea), Goldenseal Leaf (Hydrasis canadensis), Astragalus Root (astragalus propinquus), ElderFlowers (Sambucus nigra) & Ginger Root (Zingiber Officinale)
Serving: 1 heaping tsp (or 1 TBS for stronger tea) to 8 oz. water
Steep: 3-5 min.
