Adapt & Balance Tea & Syrup Herbs

Adapt & Balance Tea & Syrup Herbs

+

Our adapt & balance herb pouch can be decocted as a strong tea or made into a DIY syrup to support the adrenals and immune system.

Adapt & Balance is full of adaptogens to support you into a calmer state of "rest & digest/relax," rather than "fight or flight." Adaptogens help protect the body from the inflammatory effects of physical, mental, and emotional stress. Our bodies release the hormone cortisol to respond to stress (fight or flight response) stimulating the sympathetic nervous system. Elevated cortisol levels over long periods of time and constistant chronic stress affects the overall physiological structure of your body, overstimulating your thyroid and adrenal glands. In a nutshell, "fight or flight" is the act of doing and "rest & digest" is the act of being. We have been conditioned over time to work, to go, to move and to do. Now is the time to bring more balance and harmony into our lives by slowing down, focusing on the now, reminding ourselves to breathe, and allowing ourselves to sit still and to be.

Astragalus contains saponins, flavonoids and polysaccharides. Saponins are researched for their ability to lower cholesterol, improve the immune system and prevent cancer. Flavanoids, also found in astragalus, provide health benefits through cell signaling. They show anti-oxidative qualities, control and scavenge of free radicals, and can help prevent heart disease, cancer and immunodeficiency viruses.  Polysaccharides are known to have antimicrobial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory capabilities, among other health benefits.

Reishi, known as the "mushroom of immortality" or "queen/king of the forest" supports vitality and overall wellness. Ganoderma Lucidum helps us adapt to stress levels better (like all adaptogens). Reishi supports the immune system, may help with sleep disorders/insomnia & anxiety, protect the body from viruses, and so much more.

Cordyceps supports both the immune system and respiratory system. Cordyceps mushroom contains powerful antioxidants to promote longevity and fight free radical damage, as well as promote healthy liver and kidney function.

Ashwagandha, or Indian ginseng, has been used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine. This root helps to regulate cortisol which can make you feel more calm,  soothe adrenal fatigue & anxiety. In Ayurvedic medicine, ashwagandha is commonly used to support the immune system. Studies have shown this herb supports healthy thyroid function, enhances brain health, helps regulate blood sugar levels and so on.

Eleuthero is regarded as an herbal remedy that increases energy, supports the immune system, and helps alleviate general fatigue. Eleuthero is best known as being an adaptogen and has been part of the herbal repertoire in Chinese medicine for thousands of years used to invigorate qi (chi or energy), strengthen and nourish the spleen and kidney and to balance vital energy.

Within Ayurveda, Tulsi (Holy Basil) is known as “The Incomparable One,” “Mother Medicine of Nature” and “The Queen of Herbs.” Like other adaptogens, this herb helps to bring our mind, body and spirit back into homeostasis, while reducing stress, reducing anxiety levels and protecting/supporting the body. Here is a great article on Ocimum (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4296439/)

Schisandra has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years used to prolong life, slow the aging process, increase energy, fight fatigue and used as a sexual tonic. Schisandra also possesses significant protective antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity helping to maintain healthy cells throughout the body.
