Bombilla Straw

Our stainless steel Mate/Bombilla straw can be used for any of our loose leaf tea. Bombilla straws are an eco-friendly, reusable option. Simply add the herbs to your mug, no infuser required. When your tea is drinking temperature, you may sip directly through the straw (which acts as your filter).

History: A bombilla, pronounced bom-bee-yah, is the straw that is used to drink yerba mate tea. The Guarani people in South America were originally using hollow stalks and twigs as the straw. Over time, bombillas evolved and were created out of metals. Mate was traditionally placed into a gourd, steeped and sipped through the bombilla straw. The purpose of the bombilla is to act as both a straw and a filter so that you can enjoy tea without the leaves in your mouth.

Cleaning Instructions: Place in a mason jar of hot water and add a 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar. Allow to soak for 20 minutes. Dishwasher Safe.
